A Nerdy Moment in Time

Take a look at that picture for just a minute. It’s the Cosmic microwave background radiation. Supposedly this is the earliest moment of the universe. I always tried to imagine the big bang happening somewhere in space, but that isn’t so. Space is inside the “big bang” and is within it as it expands even today. This brings to mind one simple thought that I wanted to share because it made me take a pause….

When you look at this picture you are looking at the big bang from the inside. Therefore this is literally the edge of the universe when it was very small. Space, all of it, is in there too. What was outside of this when it happened, and what is outside of it now.. no one knows, but it doesn’t even necessarily have to include “space.” Think about it. The universe absolutely has a boundary (this is a sphere, of course) and the Universe does end at this boundary….expanding or not.

There’s more, but that’s it for now.
